General Instructions
No modifications or alterations can be made to the product without authorisation from the manufacturer, in the
event of this, the guarantee will be invalidated.
National standards and safety regulations must be observed.
Safety instructions
Any person who is involved in the using, servicing or repair of the scissor gripper is required to have familiarized
him/herself with the contents of the instructions for use.
The German regulations BGV D8 (hoisting, lifting and winching equipment and BGV B1 (handling dangerous
materials) and BGR 500 (load suspension devices in lifting appliance operation) are to be observed!
The drum to be lifted must be dry and oil- or grease-free!

- Only transport the raised drum at walking speed!
Do not walk under suspended loads!

- Watch out! On turning there is the danger of trapping or squashing!
Use and intended purpose
The HW scissors gripper is used for moving 200 litre steel rolling-hoop drums around in a vertical or horizontal
position. The drums can be turned when in the gripper for dispensing or emptying.
Technical details
The product is manufactured from galvanized steel (S235 JRG2according to DIN EN 10025) and is partly
screwed together and partly welded together.

Operation
Lifting drum:
1. Hook scissor grippers to lifting lug and lift.
2. If necessary adjust grapplers:
a = on lifting a horizontal drum the longer grappler sides must face upwards.
b = on lifting an upright drum the sides of the grapplers must face in the same direction.
3. Bring the scissor grippers up to the middle of drum to be picked up.
4. Lower until the opening stop disengages.
5. Fit the grapplers (for a horizontal drum midway between the two beads).
6. Keep opening stop open.
7. Lift slightly. Adjust the grapplers with the holding brackets until the grapplers are fitted firmly to the drum.
8. Lift drum.
Rotating drum:
1. Secure scissor grippers to the holding brackets.
2. Disengage spring lock and rotate drum to the required position.
Lowering drum vertically:
1. Caution! Turn the longer grappler side upwards, if a drum is to be lowered horizontally.
2. Reengage spring lock.
Lowering drum:
1. Slowly lower drum
2. until opening stop engages.
3. Lift scissor grippers upwards from drum.
