The Ultravision
Mains Converter is used to provide power to the Ultravision Generator.

Warnings and Cautions
•
Ensure that the Ultravision Mains Converter is always inserted into the Ultravision Generator
in the correct orientation. Failure to do so may damage the Mains Converter and equipment.
•
Do not use the Mains Converter to power equipment other than the Ultravision Generator.
This may damage the Mains Converter and equipment.
•
Do not use any other third party Power Supply or the Ultravision Battery Charger Power
Supply with the Mains Converter. This may cause damage to the Mains Converter, Ultravision
generator and the power supply. The operator and/or patient is also at risk of electrical shock
or burn.
•
Do not mechanically shock or drop a Mains Converter. This may damage or reduce the life of
the Mains Converter.
•
Mains Converters must be recycled at a WEEE-approved treatment facility. Do not incinerate
or dispose of in general hospital waste disposal.
•
Do not hold or suspend the Mains Converter or its power supply by its cable – this may
damage the equipment.
•
Be aware of trip hazards with the cable of the Ultravision Mains Converter.
Inserting the Mains Converter into the Ultravision™ Generator and Preparing for use.
To insert the Mains Converter into the generator:
1. Locate the battery slot on the right hand side of the Ultravision generator.
2. Ensure that the battery bay is empty by pulling the battery ejection trigger towards the front of
the generator.
3. Ensure that the Mains Converter is oriented with the generator terminals closest to the gener-
ator and the DC socket pointing away from it. Ensure that the arrows on the orientation label
shown on the top of the unit are pointing towards the battery bay (see Fig.1).
4. Insert the Mains Converter until it engages with the contact terminals in the generator.
5. Plug the power supply of the Mains Converter into the appropriate mains socket (this may
require the use of one of the regional adapters supplied with the Mains Converter).
6. Insert the jack at the end of the power supply into the Mains Converter input socket.
7. Turn on the mains power switch.
8. Turn the Ultravision generator fascia switch on when required.
After Surgery
1. Switch off the Ultravision generator.
2. It is recommended that the Mains Converter is stored inside the Ultravision Generator until its
next intended use.
3. The power supply jack should be removed by locating the barrel of the male socket slightly
recessed in the battery bay and pulling gently to remove. The cable itself should not be
subjected to mechanical force as this may damage the unit.
