DEFROSTING AND CLEANING OF COMPARTMENT
When ice accumulating on the inside surface of the com-
partment reaches a thickness of 10 mm, it must be removed
(about once a year).
- Select a time when your freezer is not too full.
- Activate the SUPER FREEZING button 24 hours in
advance so that the frozen foods will be at the lowest
possible temperature.
GB
- Take out the foods, wrap them up carefully and put them in
a refrigerator or in a cool place.
- Disconnect the freezer from the mains.
- Put a suitable container under the appliance. Some models
are equipped with a defrosting tray.
- Detach the ice with a wooden or plastic scraper (never use
boiling water, metal objects or hot air).
- Remove the drain plug.
- Wash only with slightly soapy lukewarm water.
NEVER USE:
- labrasive powders,
- abrasive sponges (metal or plastic),
- aggressive products (alcohol, thinners...).
- Rinse with fresh water.
- Carefully dry and leave the lid ajar for a few minutes.
- After putting back the drain plug and the tray, reconnect the
appliance to the mains, activate the SUPER FREEZING
button and put the foods back inside the compartment.
- Defrosting must be carried out as fast as possible to avoid
any excessive warming of already frozen foods, as their
length of preservation could become shorter.
KNOW HOW TO SAVE ENERGY
- Let hot foods cool before putting them into the freezer.
- When your appliance is set to a "PRESERVATION" posi-
tion, it is best to adjust the thermostat to keep the tempera-
ture inside the freezer at -18°C.
- The position corresponding to the number 3 will enable you
to lower electrical consumption when frozen foods only take
up half of your appliance.
- Once or twice a year, remove the dust from the condenser
grille located to the rear of the appliance to let air pass bet-
ween the cooling fins.

PRACTICAL ADVICE
IN CASE OF A POWER CUT OUT
• PREVENTION
If the power cut out is planned, activate, to the extent pos-
sible, the SUPER FREEZING button 24 hours in advance.
• COLD RESERVE
There are two possible cases:
- Your freezer is three quarters full. In this case, the cold
reserve already present avoids an abnormal rise in tempe-
rature.
- Your freezer is nearly empty. In this case, put in the freezer
plastic containers filled with water, which after freezing, will
provide the essential reserve of cold.
• DURING THE CUT OUT
Never open the appliance as long as power is interrupted.
HOW TO REPAIR ONESELF
LITTLE PROBLEMS
Before calling the after sales service, we suggest that you
read the following advice which might enable you to correct
the problem.
- If no signal lamp functions:
• the appliance is not correctly connected to the mains supply,
• a fuse has burned out,
• there is a power failure.
- When you call the after sales service of your retailer, give
him the complete reference of your freezer: this information is
found on the warranty certificate attached to these instruc-
tions and on the identification plate attached to the rear of the
appliance.
REPLACEMENT OF LIGHT BULB
• Take the plug out of the mains socket.
• Open the cover.
• Unclip the ceiling light by unclipping the clip on the top.
• Unscrew the bulb and replace it with a bulb of the same size
and characteristics.
• Clip back the ceiling light.
WARNING:
If you need to change your power supply cable, we recom-
mend that you exchange it with a cord of the same type,
which you can find at your after sales service.
SPARE PARTS
For repair work, ask your distributor that only spare parts cer-
tified as genuine be used.
Like those parts already in your appliance, they have been
manufactured with the same care by the same men who
have subjected them to the same controls.
