Setting up
Information and advice on setting up the aquarium are given on the packaging and in the enclosed bro-
chure.
Please proceed as follows:

1. Install the additional appliances (filter, heater, air pump) in accordance with the enclosed operating
instructions.
– Tetra recommends the use of an air pump for aeration (e.g. Tetra APS 150). The 130 l Aquarium Kit
already includes an air pump; please follow its user instructions for installation.
2. Feed the power cables of the electrical appliances through the opening of the tail flap of the left or
right access doors and into the cable duct.
– For larger plugs it is necessary to remove one of the rear access doors. The doors are designed so
that the outside pivot can release the door when it is at a 90 degree angle.
Guide the power cables through the cable duct and insert the power plugs into a wall socket. Re-

place the door by first placing it on the inside pivot and then, while holding the door at 90 degrees,
slip the door onto the outside pivot.
In case an external filter is to be used, the two outer rear flaps have predetermined breaking points
–
and can be broken off by hand or using pliers to allow the filter hoses to be inserted into the aquar-
ium.
Switching on
Do not look directly into the light source!

The switch for switching on the lighting is located on the right-hand side of the hood.

There are two switch positions for selecting the colour of the lighting:
– Day lighting: The lighting unit emits daylight white light.
Night lighting: The lighting unit emits blue light. This creates an attractive moonlight effect.

Ideally the light should be on for 8 to 12 hours per day.

We recommend using a timer for turning the light on and off.
Introducing the fish
You should allow the aquarium and filter time to stabilise before introducing any fish (see enclosed bro-
chure).
