1. General
The NOVUS B 100 EL electric stapler is designed for a mains voltage
of 230 V AC (50 Hz). The device is designed for intermittent operati-
on 1/1 (1 sec. stapling, 1 sec. pause). This corresponds to constant ope-
rat-ion with max. 30 stapling runs/min. (refer to type plate details).
When not used for prolonged periods, it is recommended to dis-
connect the device from the mains. The typical A-weighted sound-
power level is LpAmax, 1 s, 1 m= 73 dB(A).
2. Loading the device (fig. A)
By pressing the button (1) the flap (2) opens. Pull out the staple
magazine (3) and fill with original NOVUS NE 6, or original NOVUS
NE 8 staples. Push back magazine, engage and close flap.
3. Working instructions (fig. B)
a) Load device (refer to item 2)
b) Plug in (mains socket outlet must be easily accessible).
c) Green LED (4) shows stapler is ready for use once magazine
is engaged and safety visor is closed.
d) Set control knob (5) to the appropriate firing power.
e) The stapling material must be pushed in until stapling is
triggered. By withdrawing the material to be stapled, the
contact stop is released for further stapling.
4. Novus staples NE 6 and NE 8
Before inserting staples, please observe the correct staple size
indicated on the device. Only use original Novus staples with
Novus electric staplers. If the wrong staples are used, malfunc-
tions and damage to your Novus electric stapler may occur, for
which we cannot assume any liability. In order to staple 2-25
sheets, please use NOVUS NE 6 and to staple 20-40 sheets
NOVUS NE 8.
5. Stapling depth (fig. C)
The Novus electric stapler has an adjustable stop (6) for approx.
5 mm to approx. 50 mm stapling depth. Using the sliding knob
located on the right, the stop can be adjusted by sliding forwards
or backwards to the desired stapling depth, i.e. the distance of the
staples to the edge of the paper.
6. Firm and detachable stapling (fig. D)
Firm and detachable stapling is possible. The adjustment is made
on the underside of the device by pressing and turning the metal
knob (7).
7. Troubleshooting (fig. E)
Important: when opening the device and when intervening in
the working area of the stapler, the mains plug must be discon-
nected. Hazard from internal moving parts: keep fingers and
other parts of the body away from internal moving parts (11).
If any malfunctions occur, the source of the fault must
be determined.
a) Irregular stapling. Make sure that you only use original Novus
staples of the right size.
b) The staples do not penetrate. At least 3 mm staple points
must penetrate to achieve perfect stapling.
c) The device operates, but does not staple. Maybe the staple
magazine is empty? If a staple has become jammed, use a
single staple as a tool to remove it, but not a knife, screwdriver
or similar, since the magazine may be easily damaged.
Do not use force!
If this is not successful, the fault may be due to the push-in
stapling unit. To remove the push-in stapling unit from the
device, first disconnect the mains plug, lay the device on its
side and remove the two knurled screws (8) on the underside
of the device.
Stand the device on the rubber feet, slightly raise the stapling
plate (9) and remove from the front. Push the top section (10)
of the push-in stapling unit downwards and remove the unit
from the front. Any jammed staples can now be removed, or
the stapler cleaned. Proceed in reverse when assembling.
d) The device is not triggered
Please check...
... whether the mains plug is connected
... whether the LED (4) illuminates
... whether the flap (2) is engaged
... whether the socket or fuse are in good condition
If no faults can be found in spite of checking, please consult
a specialist. If the mains cable needs to be replaced, this must
be done only by specialists with the original spare part with
the injection-moulded mains cable grip.
8. Maintenance of the device
All mechanical components subject to major stress should be
occasionally oiled or lubricated. The NOVUS B 100 EL electric
stapler should be returned according to the level of use – at least
once a year – for maintenance.
9. Guarantee

NE 6 and NE 8 staples are used. For claims under the guarantee,
