2. EN - Installation
•
Unpacking
➢ Check the integrity of the unit after unpacking
•
The box includes
➢ MULTI-TX5 Multiposition Digital Vortex
➢ Instruction manual
➢ Power supply cable (EU and US type)
➢ Sample rack for test tube Ø12, 44 pos.
•
Installation
➢ Place the unit on a flat, stable, clean, non-slip, dry and non-flammable surface.
➢ The feet of the device must be cleaned and undamaged
➢ Make sure that the technical specifications of the unit and the power supply line are the same
➢ Make sure that the electrical network is grounded
➢ Make sure that the main switch is on position "0" (OFF)
➢ Connect the instrument to an easily accessible socket (compliant with the current safety norms), using only the
provided power supply cable
Note: keep the power supply cable far away from moving parts of the unit.
3. EN - Operation
Power-up
•
Turn the unit on using the main switch
•
The display shows the software version and the last speed setpoint values
Note: If the set starting mode is StOP (see chap. 4), the stirring function is not active and the display shows OFF.
Otherwise, the unit starts working at the last set speed setpoint.
Preparing the foam rack with the test tubes
•
Fill the test tubes. Best results will be obtained if all test tubes are filled to the same level and do not exceed half of
the total capacity.
•
Place test tubes in a foam rack of correct size and distribute them uniformly. Always be sure that a test tube is in
each of the four corner holes on the foam rack, in order to support the closing plate. Also, empty test tubes may be
used for this.
Placing test tube rack in the unit
•
Loosen both screw knobs on the closing plate (1)
•
Lift the plate up, keeping it near the metal shafts. The closing plate can be removed or held on the longer shaft. To
do this, lift until the closing plate comes off the short shaft. In this condition, the closing plate may be swung around
the longer shaft. Tighten the screw knob.
•
Place the foam rack inside the foam support.
•
Lower the closing plate onto both shafts and down on top of the test tubes. Let the closing plate's weight rest on the
tubes, without pressing down otherwise the motor could be damaged.
•
Tighten both screw knobs securely.
Note: To enlarge the surface of the rack support, two fillers are delivered with the unit. They are to be inserted into
the upper and lower rack support. Do not use adhesive if this necessity is only temporary.
Stirring
•
Rotate the right knob to set the stirring speed
•
Push the knob to start stirring
•
The display shows the current motor speed
•
Push the knob to stop stirring
Note: If the shaking movement of the device increases (resonance), reduce the speed or pass through the critical
phase as quickly as possible.
This unit is designed for intermittent use only. Do not operate with the unit for more than two hours continuously.
This unit is designed to work automatically without the operator holding the test tube, in order to avoid hand/arm
vibrations.
