2. Functional description

The LogoVital residential module supplies a residential unit with domestic hot water.
The drinking water is heated by means of the flow principle via a stainless steel plate heat exchanger and a pressure-controlled
proportional flow controller.
The advantages:
• instantanious hot water generation
• PM valve with carbon-coated push rods and ceramic bearing (on the drinking water side)
• DVGW certified
• operates without external power supplye
• low return temperature (heating water: according to design)
• no storage of hot water, resulting in a substantial reduction of legionellae growth
Mode of operation:
Please see INNODIST description for the PM valve.
Proportional flow controllers open the drinking water and heating water flows via the plate heat exchanger only when the hot water is being
tapped-off. After the water has been tapped-off, the valve closes and thereby prevents further heating of the plate heat exchanger.
Notes:
By keeping the heating flow temperature constant, a constant hot water temperature is continually maintained by the proportional volume
control of small and large tapped-off amounts.
If the heating agent temperatures are very high or highly fluctuating and the expected hot water temperatures are > 60 °C, two options
are available for regulating the hot water temperature (scald protection):
1. Using a thermal mixing valve (control range 30 ... 60 °C) on site by the customer
2. Adjusting the heating volumetric flow using the control wheel on the proportional flow controller (summer/winter changeover,
i.e. adjusting the heating volumetric flow according to possible changes in the heating means or flow temperatures, as the case may be)
Please note, with drinking water temperatures > 60 °C and critical water qualities there is the risk of lime and stone formation.
To ensure thermal stability and to avoid waiting periods until the required hot water temperature is reached, we recommend the use of a
thermostatic circulation bridge 35 - 65 °C (accessory) at the end of the supply line or directly in the module. If necessary, please consult
our employees.
Further accessories and options are given in our current price list.
Kindly refer to the planning & design documents for details regarding maximum allowable system pressures and temperatures as well as
guideline values to ensure the hot water capacity.
