Battery failure
When the batteries begin to fail you will receive a warning in the form of ten short beeps from
the limb. The limb will still be usable, and you should seek to replace the batteries at the next
convenient opportunity.

Upon complete battery failure, the limb will emit one long beep. The limb is still safe to use, as a
medium setting will have been selected, though speed changes will not now occur.
Seek attention from your practitioner to replace the batteries at the earliest opportunity.
Original program settings will not be lost, normal limb function will be resumed upon installation
of new batteries.
Should unit require return to Blatchford, please remove and dispose of the batteries.
(Disposal as per local waste handling regulations).

Safety Notes:

1. Any changes in performance should be reported to the practitioner.
2. If the device becomes immersed in liquid of any kind or exposed to severe
damp, check for function and if necessary report to practitioner immediately.
3. Not to expose the batteries to a naked flame.
4. Dis-assembly and repair of Smart IP must only be carried out by
authorised personnel.
5. Avoid strong magnetic fields, sources of electrical interference, atmospheres
containing powders and liquids and extremes of temperature.
6. Contact Blatchford Products Limited for advice if limb is to be fitted to an
amputee using a pacemaker, hearing aid or any other electronic device.
In normal service an Endolite limb should be inspected annually to check for correct
function, lubrication and security of assembly.
Fine tuning the Smart IP is recommended when a new cosmesis is fitted, for significant
changes in footwear weight and for a major change in activity. (See next page!)
