To guarantee its effectiveness and for reasons of hygiene, the product may not be passed on to other
patients. Any serious incident that occurs in connection with the product must be reported to the manufac-
turer and to the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and/or patient are/is domiciled.
Directions for putting the garment on
Your medical retailer will be pleased to show you the correct application. We recommend that compression
garments are permanently worn 24 hours per day.
Rough, unfiled fingernails or sharp-edged rings etc. may damage the extremely fine knitted fabric. Therefo-
re wear rubber gloves please. We recommend our fitting aids if there are difficulties putting on the garment.
In case of high UV exposure due to sun light, our skin needs to be protected. This is especially true for scar
tissue. We therefore recommend to use, under your compression garment, a suitable sunscreen product
in the form of creams or the like.
If Silon-TEX
is sewn into your CICATREX
®
• Scar and the surrounding skin must be thoroughly cleaned.
• The scar tissue is to be kept dry and grease-free.
• Do not use ointments, creams, gels or lotions in combination with Silon-TEX
• Put on your compression garment such that the Silon-TEX
smoothly.
• Do not use in case of skin irritations.
• Do not use in case of a known intolerance of the ingredient (high-purity silicone).
• Should skin incompatibilities occur during application, please stop using the product and consult your
doctor
• Do not use Silon-TEX
Care
Compression garments should be washed daily, if possible. The garment fabric not only collects remainders
of ointments and grease but also skin scales, sweat and dust. Regular washing will protect you from infec-
tions and your garment from wear. You need a spare set of garments so that you need not interrupt your
compression therapy while the other set is washed and dried.
Always turn your compression garment inside out to wash it. For care of the garments, we recommend
Thuasne Compression Clean Detergent Concentrate. Alternatively use a mild detergent for washing by
hand or for machine wash (gentle cycle at 40° C) without optical brightener and fabric softener. In a laundry
bag, compression garments are specially protected. In order to reduce the drying period, put the compres-
sion garments into a terry cloth towel, roll it up firmly and press the garment out (do not wring it out). Do
not leave the moist compression garment in the wet towel. Hang up your garment loosely and leave it to
air-dry. Never put it in the sun or onto a radiator to dry.
If Silon-TEX
is sewn into your compression garment, please dry the piece of garment especially well for
®
reasons of hygiene and store it loosely as far as possible and with ventilation.
Do not expose compression garments to any damaging effects, such as: strong sunlight, intense heat, oint-
ments, oils and greases, stain remover, gasoline and aggressive detergents.
Material composition
Please find the exact information on the sewn-in fabric label.
Note: The sewn-in fabric label is an important component of the compression garment. If you remove this
labelling from a Thuasne product, any claim for warranty, repair or replacement shall be waived.
Material composition of Silon-TEX
amide, 19 % elasthan
Storage information and duration of use
Store in a dry place and protect from sunlight. For series products, a maximum shelf life of 36 months
applies. This is followed by the duration of use of 6 months for the compression garment. The hourglass
pictogram shows the duration of use printed on the carton label. Customised manufacture concerns pro-
ducts for immediate use.
For serial sizes and custom-tailored garments, we guarantee their medical efficacy for a maximum period
of wear of six months. Prerequisite for this will be the proper treatment of the compression materials (for
example, their care or putting them on or taking them off). If necessary, your doctor should then prescribe
new compression garments. In case of any significant change of relevant body sizes (e.g. due to a successful
therapy, weight change), new measurements and a new supply may also be justified earlier already.
Disposal
You may dispose of your medical compression garment via the residual or household waste. No special
criteria exist for their elimination.
