(3) Combined rotation/Eye movement exercise
During this exercise the head is again turned left or right against the resistance of the
chin held in the hand. In addition, however, the patient's eyes follow the direction of
the attempted head movement. Press against the resistance for approx. 20 seconds,
then relax and repeat.
(4) Lowering the head
When bending the head forwards, press against the resistance of the collar for
approx. 20 seconds.
(5-6) Single-sided freedom of movement
The modular construction of the PDC enables the wearer to conduct single-sided
mobilisation exercises. If, for example, movement to the right is blocked by the cervical
spine, neck exercises are still possible on the left hand side after the removal of the
modular insert. Thus, the affected side is immobilised whilst muscular dystrophy is
avoided on the healthy side.
(7) Transformation for single-sided use
- Roll back the central sleeve to one side
- Using a screwdriver, unclip the 4 retaining slots in the oval shaped module from the
collar frame
- Replace the cover
