1. SECURITY
1.1 Warnings
- Use in IT systems (with switchgear) to check the proper functioning of the monitoring
device for the level of isolation in operating rooms.
- Always connect the tester with the test leads to a multimeter to make the
measurements.
- Checks of voltage in electrical outlets can be difficult and deceptive due to the
uncertainty of the connection to the built-in electrical contacts. Other means must be
used to ensure that the terminals do not carry current.
- If the instrument is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection
provided by the instrument may be affected.
2. FUNCTIONS
2.1 PROOF OF LEAK AND INSULATION
When we want to check the leak and insulation in an installation, we must bear in mind
that the value of the insulation resistance must exceed 0,5MΩ.
Then the following steps must be carried out:
1. The isolated circuit must be left disconnecting the transformer secondary.
2. Then, with a multimeter, the voltage of the network between the phases is measured.
3. We select L1.
4. We place the selector in the If(V) position.
5. The banana cables of the KRA-VQ are connected to the digital multimeter to measure
the AC voltage.
6. We connect the KRA-VQ to a schucko socket of the operating room and read the
voltage value of the multimeter. That value will be the leakage current in mA.
7. Finally, the insulation resistance will be the result of dividing the network voltage
between the leakage current.
