2.2 CHECK THE SURVEILLANCE INSULATION WATCH
Another important check to be made with the KRA-VQ is the correct operation of the
operating room guard.
For this, the following steps must be followed:
1. The isolated circuit must be left by disconnecting the secondary of the transformer and
disconnecting all the devices connected to it.
2. We select L1.
3. In the KRA-VQ we chose the position Ra(V). Then we place the potentiometer Ra, to
the extreme right.
4. Connect the KRA-VQ to a chucko socket and the tips of this to a multimeter to measure
the resistance.
5. Now we will turn the potentiometer (Ra) to the left, decreasing the resistance value
until the alarm of the operating room attendant is activated.
6. We put the multimeter in the ohm position. Then, the KRA-VQ is set to Ra(Ω). We can
see on the screen the value of the resistance derived to ground, which will be necessary
to activate the operating room guard. To produce a leakage current of 4mA the
resistance value must be 55KΩ.
7. Next we place the multimeter in AC Volts. The KRA-VQ in Ia(V). In this way we will
see the value of the current that triggered the shooting of the operating room guard.
The conversion is 1V = 1mA. The current must not exceed 4,4 mA.
8. This same check must be made using the L2 of the KRA-VQ.

WARNING: To avoid electric shock, disconnect the tester from the circuit, remove the test
leads from the input terminals and turn off the tester before opening the case. Do not use
the tester with the case open.

4.1 Cleaning and storage

Periodically clean the case with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive
products or solvents. If you are not going to use the meter for 60 days or more, remove
the battery and store the meter and battery separately.
