SKILLS
Operators using the whirlpool need:
To have knowledge and experience of aquatic physical-therapy procedures.
The ability to assist the patient.
TRAINING
Operator trainees need to:
Be trained in aquatic-therapy protocols.
Be familiar with the types of patients who should or should not receive this type of physical therapy (see
Patient Evaluation, below).
Read and understand this manual (and the manual of the turbine, if used).
Be trained on the use of the whirlpool (and the manual of the turbine, if used).
Practice with the whirlpool (and the manual of the turbine, if used) before using with patients.
