Set up of Valve80 for use with iPod
1. Connect the speaker wires to the speaker connectors at the rear of the Valve80.
NOTE: Observe the Red and White colours to ensure the speakers are connected correctly. If the speaker
wires are connected incorrectly (reversed polarity), this may result in poor sound quality and may
damage the Valve80 or the Speakers.
2. Select the correct voltage (via the Voltage Selector Switch) for your country.
3. Plug in the Power Cable to the rear of the Valve80 and connect the plug to your mains socket, switch the mains
socket ON
4. Insert the appropriate cradle for your iPod into the universal dock of the Valve80 (Cradle will be supplied with your
iPod).
5. Dock your iPod onto the 30pin dock connector of the Valve80.
6. Power is turned ON/OFF via the Power Button located on the rear of the Valve80 (LED on the front of the Valve80
will illuminate Blue when switched ON).
NOTE: The Valve80 will take approximately 30seconds to warm up the valves, during this time no sound
would be played through the speakers.
7. Select the correct Input by turning the source selector knob to iPod.
8. Using the Volume controls turn the volume up slowly.
Whenever the Valve80 receives a command from either the volume knob or the remote control, the LED on the
front panel will blink.
Using the Video Output function on your iPod
Composite Video
1. Attach a Composite RCA Cable (not supplied) to the back of the Valve80 (Composite Video-out).
2. Attach the other end of the RCA cable to your TV (Video-in).
3. Follow your iPod manual for TV OUT settings.
S- Video
1. Attach an S-Video (not supplied) lead to the back of the Valve80 (S-Video-out).
2. Attach the other end of the S-Video cable to your TV (S-Video-in).
3. Follow your iPod manual for TV OUT settings.
Video Output is only Compatible with the following:-
iPod touch / touch 2G: 640 x 480 pixels (Max)
iPod classic: 640 x 480 pixels (Max)
iPod nano 3G / 4G: 640 x 480 pixels (Max)
iPod 5G: 480 x 480 pixels (Max)
