- Have defective switches replaced by an authorised
service facility.
- Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn on and
off correctly.
21 Warning! Use only recommended accessories
and attachments. The use of any accessory or at-
tachment other than those recommended in this in-
struction manual may present a risk of personal injury.
- Ensure the battery pack is correct for the tool.
- Ensure the outer surface of the battery pack or tool is
clean and dry before plugging into the charger.
- Ensure that batteries are charged using the correct
charger recommended by the manufacturer. Incorrect
use may result in a risk of electric shock, over heating
or leakage of corrosive liquid from the battery.
22 Have your tool repaired by a qualified techni-
cian. This tool has been made in accordance with the
relevant safety requirements. Repairs should only be
carried out by an authorised Technical Service Facility
using original spare parts only, otherwise, this may
result in considerable danger to the user.
23 Disposal of batteries. Ensure the battery is dis-
posed of safely. Place them in a special bin for batter-
ies, for them to be recycled in compliance with Directive
91/157/EC.
Never throw flat batteries in domestic refuse bins,
into fire or water!
OTHER PRECAUTIONS
- WARNING! Do not grind material containing amian-
thus. Working with materials containing amian-
thus/asbestos and/or silica stones produces a dust,
which is harmful to health. Protect yourself from inhal-
ing this dust, in compliance with current regulations
on accident prevention.
- Check that the stated grinding disc or wheel speed is
equal to or greater than the rated speed.
- Assure yourself that the dimensions of the grinding
disc or wheel are compatible with the tool.
- Abrasive grinding wheels or discs must be handled
and stored with care in accordance with the manufac-
turer's instructions.
- Protect the sanding tool from knocks, blows and
grease.
- The grinding disc or wheel must be carefully checked
before being used to ensure that it is not damaged or
cracked. All damaged or cracked grinding discs or
wheels must be immediately replaced.
- All grinding discs and wheels must be carefully mounted
in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- The machine should be used for dry cutting and
grinding only.
- Check that the disc has been properly fitted and
secured before using the machine. Start the machine
with no load and run for 30 seconds in a safe posi-
tion; if you notice serious vibration or any other defect
stop the machine immediately. This may be a sign of
incorrect fitting or a badly balanced disc.
- Ensure that the part to be worked on is firmly secured
before beginning any grinding or cutting operation.
- Never use cutting discs for deburring. Do not subject
cutting discs to lateral pressure.

- Beware of shavings that fly off. Hold the tool that so
that sparks fly away from you or other people and
inflammable materials.
- When working on stone, use dust extraction equip-
ment and wear a mask.
- When working with the machine, always wear safety
goggles and ear protection. Other personal protection
equipment such as dust masks, gloves, helmet and
apron should be worn when necessary, along with
non-slip safety footwear. A dust mask is required
when the dust from the material deburred, such as
paint or other coating, is harmful. If in doubt, use
safety equipment.
- Make sure the vents are free when working with
dust. If they require cleaning, first unplug the ma-
chine, do not use metal objects and avoid damaging
internal parts.
- Do not touch the sanding/grinding tools when rotating.
- WARNING! The tool keeps on turning a while after
having disconnected the equipment.
- Each time they are used, both the apparatus and
charger must be inspected. If any damage is de-
tected, neither the apparatus nor the charger
should be used. They must only be repaired by
qualified technical personnel. The apparatus must
never be opened.
- The apparatus should be allowed to cool before
charging the battery.
- The internal battery should only be charged using the
Casals charger designed for it and at the correct
charging voltage (see the specifications plate).
- Always connect the charger to a mains supply pro-
tected by a thermal cut out switch, for your own
safety, in accordance with established safety regula-
tions regarding low-voltage electrical installations.
USES OF THE MACHINE
This tool has been designed to dock, polish, sand, drill,
roughen or brush metal and stone materials without the
need for water.
Any use that differs from the aforementioned is unau-
thorised.
BEFORE USING THIS TOOL
Battery charging
To remove the battery J from the machine, press
both side buttons, H, situated on the handle, at the
same time.
1. Place the battery charger K on a flat surface and
plug the charger into the mains. The green light G
on the charger will light up to indicate that the ma-
chine is working and the battery is charging.
Insert the connector for the charger F in the female
socket E.
2. Fit the battery J upside down into the charger.
Ensure that the battery tab is aligned with the in-
ner slot on the charger. Check that the + and –
battery terminals and those of the charger coin-
cide. Verify that the red "battery charging" indica-
tor lamp G comes on.
3. Once the charging is completed, the red light G will
turn green.
