7. HOW TO PREPARE
CAPPUCCINO
1. Prepare one or two cups of espresso cof-
fee, making sure to use cups that are large
enough for cappuccinos.
2. Press the steam switch (Fig. 10) and wait
until the "OK" pilot light comes on (Fig. 4).
The turning on of the light means that the
hot water generator has reached the ideal
temperature for producing steam.
3. In the meantime, fill a container with about
100 grams of milk for each cappuccino to
be made. The milk must be cold from the
refrigerator (not warm!). When choosing
the container, remember that the volume
of the milk will double or triple.
4. Position the container under the cappucci-
no nozzle.
5. Immerse the cappuccino nozzle into the
milk by about 5mm (Fig. 11) and rotate the
steam handle in an anti-clockwise direc-
tion (fig.12) (by rotating the handle to a
greater or lesser extent, it is possible to
vary the amount of steam that will exit from
the cappuccino nozzle). At this point, the
milk will begin to increase in volume and
will begin to appear creamy.
6. When the volume of milk has doubled,
immerse the cappuccino nozzle deeply
into the container and continue heating the
milk (Fig. 13). Then, when the desired tem-
perature has been reached (the optimum
temperature is 60°C), close by rotating the
steam knob in a clockwise direction (Fig.
12) and turn off the steam switch.
7. Pour the frothed milk into the cups contai-
ning the espresso coffees that were pre-
pared in advance. The cappuccino is now
ready; add sugar as desired and, as an
extra option, sprinkle a little powdered cho-
colate on the top of the froth.
IMPORTANT: always clean the cappuccino
nozzle after use.Proceed as follows:
1. By turning the steam knob (Fig. 12), allow
a little steam to come out for a few
seconds.
2. Unscrew the cappuccino nozzle by turning
it in a clockwise direction (Fig. 14) and
wash it thoroughly with tepid water.
3. Check that the three holes in the cappuc-
cino nozzle (shown in Fig. 15) are not plug-
ged. If necessary, use a pin to clean them.
4. Clean the steam delivery tube, being care-
ful not to burn yourself.
5. Screw the cappuccino nozzle back on.

8. PRODUCING HOT WATER

1. Turn on the appliance by pressing the
"on/off" switch (Fig. 2) and wait until the
"OK" pilot light comes on (Fig. 4).
2. Position a container under the cappuccino
nozzle.
3. Press the coffee delivery switch (Fig. 5)
and, at the same time, rotate the steam
knob in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig.
12); water will come out from the cappucci-
no nozzle.
4. To stop the flow of hot water, turn the steam
knob in a clockwise direction and press the
coffee delivery switch.

9. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Before any cleaning or maintenance ope-
ration, turn off the appliance, let it cool
down and detach the plug from the
mains.
2. Never use solvents or abrasive deter-
gents in cleaning the appliance. A soft,
moist cloth is sufficient.
3. Clean the following parts on a regular
basis: the filter holder, the drip-tray, the
water tank and the hot water drip spout.
Do not wash the filter holder in the
dishwasher.
4. Never immerse the unit in water – it is an
electrical appliance.
5. From time to time, check that the small
holes in the two coffee filters are not plug-
ged. If necessary, clean the filters thorou-
ghly using hot water and scrubbing them
with an abrasive pad.

10. SCALE REMOVAL

It is recommended that the appliance be
descaled after every 200 cups of coffee,
approximately. It is recommended that speci-
fic products for descaling of espresso coffee
makers be used. These products are usually
available in retail stores. If such products are
not available, the following steps may be
taken:
1. Fill the tank with 1 litre of water.
2. Dissolve 2 dessert spoons (about 30
grams) of citric acid (available in pharma-
cies) in the water.
3. Press the "On/off" switch and wait until
the "OK" pilot light comes on.
