• This device complies with IEC 61010-1, CAT II 1000V and CAT III 600V
overvoltage standards.
• To get the best service from this device, carefully read this user manual and
observe the detailed safety precautions.
• International symbols used on the device and in this manual are explained
in section 1.2.

1.1 Safety precautions

1.1.1 Preliminary remark

• Due to the increasing probability of high transient overvoltage in modern
power systems, electrical test equipment must meet more stringent safety
standards. Transients in electrical systems (power grid, feeders or branch
circuits) can trigger a sequence of incidents that may result in serious
personal injury. Safety must be built into test equipment to protect users
against transients.
