Starting the appliance

Before starting the appliance for the first
time.
Always remember that an improper use of
the electric current may be fatal. Please,
carefully read the indications on page 4.
- Before filling the appliance with water
always turn the appliance off and pull
the plug out of the socket.
- Never touch the iron soleplate when in
use: danger of scalding.
- The iron soleplate should never come
in contact with the power cord.
- Pay attention the steam is never di-
rected toward people or animals.
- Clean the appliance only when un-
plugged and when it has completely
cooled down.
1. Preparations
Choose the place to iron following the in-
structions below:
- You can use a firm ironing board with a
steam-absorbent surface (ex. pressed
plate)
- Choose a flat, even, dry surface, near a
socket
- Never put the appliance on or near warm
surfaces or near flame
- Use the appliance in dry rooms only
- Use only fit extensions (3 poles with an
earth and a wire with a section of 1 mm
pay attention not to trip over the cord
- to avoid scalding, keep the appliance
away from children
- During a break place the iron on the sili-
cone mat
Attention: the ironing board with a wood
surface or "silver" cover are not suitable,
since they are not permeable to steam. Be-
cause of the great amount of steam emitted,
the wood may get damaged.
2. Information about the water
We suggest to use distilled or demineral-
ised water.
Decalcified water of any kind (ex. based
on salt) or water from tumble-dryers is un-
fit, since it may be very corrosive. Never use
water treated with filter cartridges, since
the residues (ex. particles of activated car-
bon) may block the mechanic parts of the ap-
pliance. Never add in water perfumes or other
additives. Water with additives may damage
the steam generator with subsequent costs
of cleaning and service.
3. Filling with water
Let the appliance completely cools down be-
fore filling with water.
- Turn the appliance OFF.
- Wait until the water in the boiler cools
down.
- Carefully unscrew the safety cap making
sure the steam has completed exhausted.
- Fill the boiler with water.
- Thoroughly screw the safety cap back.
- Insert the plug into the mains socket.
- Wait a few minutes until the water reaches
the working temperature. The indicator
light comes off.
