Volume Control (output: [–/+])
Using the output buttons, the volume of the
OUTPUT jacks can be controlled.
If the + button is pressed, the volume will
increase. If the – button is pressed, the
volume will decrease.
O The output level can only be controlled
when a LINE OUT connection is used.
O If 0 db is indicated, it is the maximum
output and if 20 db is indicated, it
indicates –20 db.
O If the – button is held depressed, the
indication will be "-- db" and no sound
will be output.
Fade In/Fade Out
During the playback mode, press the
[fader] button. ("FAdE" is indicated in the
display.)
The player will fade out gradually and the
player enters the pause mode.
During the pause or muting mode, press
the [fader] button again; the player will
fade in gradually.
O The fade in/out function is available
only when a LINE OUT connection is
used.
Muting Operation
When the [muting] button is pressed, the
output signal is muted (sound from the
speaker is cut ) and "--db" is indicated in
the display.
O Approx. 8 seconds later, the playback
information will reappear in the display.
O To release the muting mode, press the
[muting] button. After displaying the
output level, the playback information
will reappear in the display.
O Be careful not to adjust the volume level
too high while sound is muted;
otherwise, the sudden excessively high
volume level may damage the speakers
when muting is released.
O The muting function is available only
when a LINE OUT connection is used.
Time Counter Display
Press the [time] button during playback to
display the elapsed time and remaining
time of the track being played.
O Press the [time] button in the stop mode
to display the total disc playback time
and the total number of tracks on the
disc for about several seconds.

Press the [time] button to erase the time
mode indication.
The elapsed time of the track being played
is then displayed in minutes and seconds.
∑ Remaining time display (REMAIN)
Press the [time] button to light REMAIN up.
This provides an easy check of the total
remaining time of the track being played.
∑ Total remaining time display (TOTAL
REMAIN)
Press the [time] button to light TOTAL
REMAIN up.
This provides an easy check of the total
remaining time required to finish the disc.
O When a "pause" is programmed within
the program, the remaining time up to
the point at which "pause" is
programmed will be displayed.
O In normal playback mode, if a track with
a number higher than 20 is being
played, the remaining time will not be
displayed in the time counter even
when the [time] button is pressed.
O If tracks with numbers higher than 20
are included in the program, the
remaining time and total remaining time
may not be displayed in the time
counter depending on the track being
played.

Display Function
When the [display] button is pressed
during playback, all the display indicators
that are lit go off except the power
indicator lamp.
Even when this is done, the player will
continue playback.
O When this function is activated, if any
operation button is pressed, the display
will come on for approx. 4 seconds.
Timer Playback
You can start timer playback from a
desired track at a specified time when this
player is connected to the optional timer.
1. Connect the unit and your stereo
system to an audio timer.
2. Turn
on
the
timer
and
component's power.
3. Set the amplifier to the proper mode.
4. Load a disc into the unit, and close the
door.
5. Set the preset time for playback to start
and for the power to turn off.
(Each component's power is turned off.)
6. Power to each component will be
turned on at the time preset on the
audio timer and playback will start
from the specified track automatically.
