Description
The 5774 Motor Rotation and Phase Sequence Indicator will indicate
correct or incorrect motor connections. It will also indicate the presence
and phase sequence of 3-phase power, to ensure correct wiring.
The motor rotation indicator requires a 9-volt battery; the phase
sequence indicator uses power from the 3-phase circuit under test.
Note:
The motor rotation function relies on the residual magentism of
the motor to indicate the direction of motor rotation. If the
motor was not operated by the manufacturer prior to shipment,
it will not have residual magnetism and the 5774 will not
indicate the direction of motor rotation.
Purpose
This instruction manual is intended to familiarize operators with the safe
operation of the Greenlee 5774 Motor Rotation and Phase Sequence
Indicator.
