aes: The adjustment aes is to use, when
no manual adjustment of the shutter is
desired.
At very bright ambient light (e.g. outdoor use) the shutter setting range may not be
sufficient to achieve a satisfactory video quality. In this case it is recommended to use
a lens with automatic iris control ( DC or videosignal controlled).
If pictures are taken with short shutter speed settings intensity level variations may
occur. Pictures taken at artificial light (particularly at fluorescent light) may flicker.
Flare (bright horizontal or vertical lines) may occur in the picture.
If manually controlled lenses are used, problems with the depth of field may occur due
to the fixed iris setting. The depth of field decreases particularly if the iris is opened
completely. This could lead to parts of the picture being out of focus.
off: Flickerfree mode off
on: The picture background may look over- off: BLC off
exposed if the BLC function is activated,
particularly if the object in the foreground
is too small compared to the overall
picture (< 40%).
The iris control is derived from the area at the picture center.
The iris is opened if the picture edges are brighter then the center.
The iris is closed if the picture edges are darker then the center.
on: For lenses with fixed or manual iris
setting
dc: For DC voltage controlled lenses
