Sharpening the saw chain
Working eff ectively with the telescoping pole
chain saw is possible only if the saw chain is in
good condition and sharp. This also reduces the
risk of kickback.
The saw chain can be re-sharpened by any
dealer. Do not attempt to sharpen the saw chain
yourself unless you have the necessary special
tools and experience.
8.5 Maintenance of the hedge trimmer
(Fig. 52)
The blades should be cleaned and lubricated
at regular intervals in order to ensure best
performance at all times. Remove deposits with a
brush and apply a thin fi lm of oil.

8.6 Ordering replacement parts:

lithium-ion batteries are properly packaged
and delivered when you send them to us,
please contact our customer service or the
point of sale at which the equipment was

When shipping or disposing of batteries and
cordless tools, always ensure that they are
packed individually in plastic bags to prevent
short circuits and fi res.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to
prevent it from being damaged in transit. The
raw materials in this packaging can be reused or
recycled. The equipment and its accessories are
made of various types of material, such as metal
and plastic. Never place defective equipment in
your household refuse. The equipment should
be taken to a suitable collection center for proper
disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of
such a collection point, you should ask in your
local council offi ces.

10. Storage and transport

Store the equipment and its accessories out
of children's reach in a dark and dry place at
above freezing temperature. The ideal storage
temperature is between 41°F and 86°F
(5°C and 30°C). Keep the electric tool in its
original packaging.
The equipment has an integrated wall holder
(Fig. 53 / Item 55) to enable it to be hung on the
wall.

Always hold the tool with one hand on the
handle and the other hand on the steady grip.
Do not carry the tool by its motor housing.

Secure the tool against slipping if you
transport it in a vehicle.
•
If possible, use the original packaging for
transporting the tool.
•
Clean the cordless multifunction tool and
carry out its maintenance before you put it into
storage.

If you are not going to use the telescoping
pole chain saw for an extended period of time,
remove the chain oil from the tank. Briefly
immerse the saw chain and the cutter rail into
an oil bath and then wrap them in oil paper.

During storage or transportation, use the
supplied safety guards for the cutting blade,
cutter rail/saw chain and hedge trimmer blade.
