DANGER:
This unit can cause serious
injury including amputation or blindness to the
operator and others. The warnings and safety
instructions in this manual must be followed to
provide reasonable safety and efficiency in
using the unit.
WARNING:
When using gardening ap-
pliances, basic safety precautions must always
be followed to reduce the risk of fire and serious
injury. Read and follow all instructions. Failure to
do so can result in serious injury.
The operator is responsible for following the
instructions and warnings for the attachment
and unit powerhead, both in the instruction
manual and on the units. Read entire instruc-
tion manual for both the attachment and the
unit powerhead before using the unit! Be thor-
oughly familiar with the controls and the prop-
er use of the unit. Restrict the use of this unit to
persons who have read, understand and will
follow the instructions and warnings on the
unit and in the manuals. Never allow children
to operate this unit.
DANGER:
Never use flailing devices.
WARNING:
Keep away from rotating
blade. You and others can be blinded/injured.

WARNING:
The blade continues to
spin after throttle is released or engine is
turned off. The coasting blade can throw ob-
jects or seriously cut you if accidentally
touched. Stop the blade by contacting the left
hand side of coasting blade with material al-
ready cut.

OPERATOR SAFETY
WARNING:
This attachment when
coupled with a powerhead produces an electro-
magnetic field during operation. Under some cir-
cumstances, this field may interfere with active
SAFETY RULES
or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk
of serious or fatal injury, we recommend persons
with medical implants to consult their physician
and the medical implant manufacturer before op-
erating this machine.
S Wear protective gear. Always use steel-
toed safety footwear with non-slip soles;
snug-fitting clothing; heavy, long pants, and
long sleeves; heavy-duty, non-slip gloves;
eye protection such as non-fogging, vented
goggles or face screen; an approved safety
helmet; and sound barriers (ear plugs or
mufflers) to protect your hearing. Regular
users should have hearing checked regu-
larly as engine noise can damage hearing.
Secure hair above shoulder length. Secure
or remove loose clothing and jewelry or
clothing with loosely hanging ties, straps,
tassels, etc. Being fully covered also helps
protect you from debris and pieces of toxic
plants thrown by spinning blade.

S Stay alert. Do not operate unit when you are
tired, ill, upset or under influence of alcohol,
drugs, or medication. Watch what you are
doing; use common sense.
S Keep hands and feet away from cutting area
and rotating blade.
S Never start or run the engine inside a closed
room or building. Breathing exhaust fumes
can kill.
S Keep handles free of oil and fuel.
S Always use the handlebar and a properly
adjusted shoulder strap when using brush-
cutter attachment (see ASSEMBLY).
S Never direct discharge of material toward
bystanders nor allow anyone near the area
of operation. Use care in directing discharge
to avoid glass enclosures, automobiles, and
the like.
S Never operate the brushcutter without the
blade shield in place and properly secured.
S Stop the engine before setting the unit down.
FUEL SAFETY
S Mix and pour fuel outdoors.
S Keep away from sparks or flames.
S Use a container approved for fuel.
S Do not smoke or allow smoking near fuel or
the unit or while using the unit.
