Functioning Principle

The Grohtherm Wireless! system should now be installed
and ready for operation using the controllers.
The Main Controller determines all operational features of the
shower. Settings and status are clearly indicated by LCD
displays (one for temperature and messages, one for flow
rate), illuminated buttons and audible tones. It allows
independent selection of water temperature and flow rate.
Beside the two rotary knobs, there are push buttons to start,
pause and stop the shower plus memory buttons which allow
the user to store / select their preferred settings.
Scalding protection is achieved by limiting the outlet
temperature of the water until the override button is pressed.
The Remote Controller starts and stops the shower as well as
allowing the user to select a stored memory setting.
Main and Remote Controllers update each other's status
wirelessly via the Base Unit.

Watertightness of Main and Remote Controller:
• The controllers are water resistant, but are not suitable for
underwater use.

Preparation for Use

Battery insertion
• Loosen screws (A) from the back of the controllers and lift off
the battery compartment cover (B), see fold-out page II. Do
not remove the screws from the cover completely so as to
avoid losing them.
• When changing batteries, wait 2 minutes after removing the
old ones.
• Insert batteries (C) with correct polarity.
• Replace compartment cover (B) and tighten screws (A)
securely.
The Main and Remote Controllers are not intended as
hand held devices - they must be fitted to the wall using
the brackets supplied.
Settings during a power cut / when changing batteries
No settings saved by the user will be lost when changing the
batteries or in the event of interruption of the power supply to
the base unit.

Communication between Controllers and Base Unit
Main Controller, Remote Controller and Base Unit are supplied
as a set and are already configured to communicate with each
other. The controllers should not be positioned at more
than 10 metres from the Base Unit.
System calibration
The system Base Unit carries out a calibration of its internal
settings periodically when the shower is not in use. This also
takes place if the power is interrupted or if changes in the
SETUP menu are carried out, see section Settings.
This process takes approximately 1 minute. If attempts are
made to use the Main Controller during this time, WAIT will be
displayed.
