rear collection models only)
1. Empty the grass catcher
2. Shake it to remove grass
cuttings and soil residue
3. Replace the grass catcher and clean
the interior of the cutting means
assembly (par. 7.6.4-a), now remove
the grass catcher, empty and rinse it,
then place it where it can dry quickly.
7.6.4 Cleaning the cutting

Keep people or animals away from
the surrounding area when cleaning
the cutting means assembly.
a. Cleaning the interiors
Remove any traces of grass or dirt that
have accumulated inside the cutting means
assembly, since otherwise these may
dry and harden, making it more difficult
to start the device the next time.
When washing the inside of the cutting
means assembly and the discharge chute,
the machine must be on firm ground with:
– the grass catcher or the rear
discharge guard mounted in place
(for rear collection models only)
– the side discharge chute mounted (for
models with side discharge only);
– the operator seated;
– the cutting means assembly in position «1»;
– the engine running
– the transmission in neutral
– the cutting means engaged
• Alternatively, connect a water tube to the
dedicated coupling (fig. 35.A), allowing
water to flow through each cutting means
for a few minutes, while they are in motion.
IMPORTANT In order not to compromise
the efficiency of the electromagnetic clutch:
- do not let the clutch come into contact with oil;
- do not spray pressurised water directly on the
clutch unit;
- do not clean the clutch with petrol.

b. Cleaning the exterior
accumulate in the upper part of the

to maintain maximum machine
efficiency and safety levels.
To clean the upper part of the
cutting means assembly:
• lower the cutting means assembly
• direct an air jet through the apertures in
• Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure

if the following are malfunctioning:
- the brake
- the cutting means engage
and disengage functions
- switching the drive to forward
or reverse gears.
The cutting means assembly should be properly
adjusted to obtain an evenly mown lawn (fig. 37).
If mowing is uneven, check the tyre pressure (par.
6.1.3).
If this is not sufficient to achieve an even
cut, please contact your Dealer to adjust the
alignment of the cutting means assembly.
Badly sharpened cutting means pull at the
grass and cause the lawn to turn yellow.
