Minimum Firmware Requirements
In order to utilize LTO-2 and LTO-3 mixed mode, the minimum firmware
versions for the library and drives are as follows:
• Library: 3.35.0001
• RMU: 193D.00002
• LTO-2 Drive: 53Y3
• LTO-3 Drive: 54K1
• SNC (Gen1): 4.25.04
• SNC (Gen2): 4.60.03
You can view the firmware levels of the library and the library components
through the Remote Management Unit (RMU) or via the Operator
Control Panel (OCP) of the library. See the PV136T User's Guide for
more information.
You can view the firmware levels of the SNC through the SNC Manager
software, or the SNC serial port, or by using telnet to connect to the
SNC's Ethernet port. See the SNC User's Guide and SNC Manager's User's
Guide for more details. You can download the SNC Manager software, the
SNC User's Guide, and the SNC Manager User's Guide from the
Dell Support website at support.dell.com.
Download the latest firmware package and instructions for the PV136T
from the Dell Support website at support.dell.com.
NOTICE:
Before performing the firmware update procedure, carefully read
and follow the firmware update instructions included with the firmware
update package.
NOTE:
It is required that you power down your library for at least 60 seconds
after completing the firmware updates. This will ensure all devices reset and
initialize correctly with the latest firmware.
If the minimum firmware requirements are not met, you may encounter
the following errors situations:
• The RMU may not recognize the LTO-2 or LTO-3 drives
• The library may display a SAC 42 error message that states:
An incorrect library configuration is detected.
