2.1.2 Saddle adjustment.
The correct position of the saddle is very important to get the most comfortable position on the bike.
The saddle adjustment is made from two different perspectives: first you have to get the correct height. You have
to pull the seat post upwards until you reach a position where you are seated on your bike with your heel on the
pedal with the cranckset in its lowest position and parallel to the seatpost with your leg almost completely
stretched.
WARNING: if the seatpost has not been introduced deep enough in the tube it could sag and brake. This
could lead to absolute loss of control including the possibility to fall down.
You should also adjust the inclination of the saddle. You will be able to move the extremities of the saddle up and
down by using the bolt under the saddle. A common position is to place it in a parallel position to the ground. You
can also move the saddle forward and backward sliding it by the rails.
You can try until you find the most comfortable position. Please note that moving the saddle forward and
backward will change your position from the handlebar.
The new generation seatposts might have these bolts in another place rather than right beneath the saddle, or
they might be configured in a different way. However the possibilities to adjust these two parameters are always
there, regardless the type of saddle you acquire.
