7.7 Enabling password protection, changing
passwords and defining user rights
According to the factory settings, access to the recorder is not
protected. The predefined password "admin" is not enabled,
i.e. it must not be entered to make any changes to the settings.
When the recorder is connected to a network, always make
sure to enable the password protection feature and to
change the password (also see chapter 3, "Important Data
Security Notes").
1) Show the toolbar to call up the ma in menu: Press the right
mouse button or move the mouse pointer to the centre of
the lower edge of the screen.
2) Click the icon
3) The menu "Parameter" is selected. Click "System" and
there, on the far left, click the submenu "Users".

will be activated after 2 minutes when no menu is displayed
and the recorder is not operated.
7) In the line "Password", enter a new password with a length
of at least 8 characters. Re-enter the password in the line
"Confirm".
Important: For remote recorder control and remote ac-
cess via the network, the password must consist of exactly
8 characters. It is possible to enter more characters; this
password, however, will be regarded as invalid by the soft-
ware for remote access ("ActiveX").
8) To save the new password, click "Save". When the pass-
word has been successfully saved, a corresponding message
will appear; click "OK" to confirm.
9) To define user rights, first assign a user name and a pass-
word to each user as described above.
10) When a line for a user has been selected, the button "Per-
mission" will additionally appear at the bottom of the
menu. Click the button to define the user rights.
