07. CLEANING AND CARE
DANGER of electric shock as a result of moisture
Remove the mains plug from the socket before cleaning the glass kettle.
The glass kettle, the base, the connecting cord and the mains plug
must not be immersed in water or other liquids, nor must they be cle-
aned under running water.
¯
DANGER of injury as a result of scalding
The glass kettle gets very hot during operation. Allow it to cool before
cleaning.
CAUTION! Material damages
The glass kettle is not dishwasher safe.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or any hard brushes.
After each use
If possible, clean the appliance after each use.
1. Remove the mains plug from the socket.
2. Wipe the inside and the outside of the glass kettle with a damp cloth. Rinse
the inside of the glass kettle with clear water. If required, wipe the base and
the connecting cord with a slightly damp cloth. Wipe dry with a dry cloth.
3. Allow all parts to dry completely before storing them or using the appliance
again.
Cleaning the scale filter
1. Open the lid.
2. Unlock the scale filter
3. Clean the scale filter under running water using a soft brush and a damp
dishcloth.
4. Tilt the scale filter back until it locks in place with an audible click.
Descaling
1. After some time, lime deposits will form on parts of the glass kettle (depend-
ing on the hardness of the water used). These should be removed at regular
intervals; otherwise, the power consumption of the appliance will increase.
2. Fill descaler into the glass kettle. Use commercially available descaler, e.g.
descaler for coffee machines. Follow the instructions on the packaging of the
descaler. For details on the further steps refer to the instructions for use of the
descaler. After descaling, rinse the glass kettle several times, if necessary.
