BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME

1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices. Keep pack-
aging materials away from children - danger of suffocation!
2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning and
care".
3. Check to make sure that the appliance is stable.
4. Connect the base via the power cord to the power supply (220–240 V~,
50/60 Hz).
5. Remove the kettle from the base.
6. Open the lid.
7. Add clear, cold water to the "Max" marking.
8. Close the lid by pressing lightly. We recommend to place the lid so that the
steam outlet is on the left or right side.
9. Place the kettle level on the base.
10. Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF switch downwards into the „I"-
position. The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on the
base.
11. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
12. For hygienic reasons, please discard the water from the first boiling.

OPERATION

1. Remove the kettle from the base.
2. Open the lid.Fill the kettle with water (minimum 0.2 litres, mark MIN, maxi-
mum 0.6 litres, mark MAX).
CAUTION!

If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected!
4. Close the lid by pressing lightly. We recommend to place the lid so that the
steam outlet is on the left or right side.
5. Place the kettle level on the base in order to establish the contact with the
power connection.
