Addressing examples
Automatic addressing
5 DDL participants are connected to a bus coupler in the
following example.

Lowest address is not 1 and there is a gap (4).

If there is only one participant per type in the DDL, the DDL can
address itself automatically.
Set the S5 rotary switch to position 0 (= address 0) for
O
automatic addressing.
In this case, the DDL will automatically assign addresses to the
participants.
If automatic addressing is used, no addresses may be used
between 1 and 14 (1 to E). The address assignment can be
found in the system description.
7.1.3

Setting the output data length for valves

The number of valve outputs can be set with bits 3 and 4 on the
S6 switch. Here there is an option to optimize the data range
needed in the controller with smaller valve units.
This setting only applies to the valves.
Select the desired data length in accordance with the
