The micro-blasting module pressure is shown on the pressure gauge (H) built into the regulator.
Once pressure has been selected, press the regulating knob back down to lock it.
EXHAUSTER ADJUSTMENT
The blasting cabin should always be used connected to a pressured aspiration unit, via the
outlet tube at the back of the units. For proper exhausting, a slight vacuum pressure must be
created inside the booth so that there is a smooth, continuous flow of dust particles towards the
outlet tube.
The booth vacuum pressure depends on the blowing pressure used. It can be adjusted as
follows:
1. Remove the three exhauster stoppers (I) on the top right-hand side of the booth.
2. Connect the exhauster to the outlet tube at the back of the boot,h and start it up.
3. Start up the fixed micro-blasting gun by activating the valve (B).
4. Place your thumb over the hole of one of the exhauster stoppers. You will feel a slight suction
effect which tends to stop up the hole.
5. If the suction level is low, insert one of the stoppers and repeat this process.
6. Do this until air circulates smoothly through the holes into the booth.
The unit is supplied with a bag filter for exhausting. This should only be used sporadically
(temporary installation, exhauster malfunction, etc.). In general, motorised exhausting should be
used.
NOTE: make sure that the aspiration unit used can suck abrasive particles. We strongly
recommend the MESTRA Eolo Plus R-080531 aspiration unit.
USING THE UNIT
To micro-blast workpieces correctly, proceed as follows:
1. Open the booth lid and put the workpiece inside. Check that the aluminium oxide level inside
is sufficient.
2. Check that the level of grinding medium in the micro-blasting module vessels are within the
limits for work (Terra II and Terra III).
3. Close the booth lid and ensure that the bolt clip (A) is properly in place.
4. Use suitable protective goggles and a face-mask.
5. Start up the exhauster. If you need to see the workpiece clearly, switch on the inside light.
6. To use the fixed gun, move the slide on the valve (B). Move it forward to make the gun blow
at maximum pressure, half-way along its stroke for half pressure, or fully back to cut off the
air flow.
7. Using the rubber gloves (D) built into the booth, move the workpiece so that it is pointed
properly towards the blasting jet.
8. If you wish to use the micro-blasting module (Terra II and Terra III), pick up the moving gun in
the booth and press the pedal. In the case of Terra III, first choose the module with the
selection valve. When a module starts up, point the sand jet towards the rubber pad (C) on
the rear wall of the unit. If the jet blasts against any other area, the booth walls will be subject
to abrasion over time (Terra II and Terra III).
