How to Program an ICS Wall Control or Remote to work with a fan:
The modules in the fan and ICS conversion kits have an automated learning feature!
- The wall control/handheld remote control can be programmed to control multiple
receivers or fans.
In other words, ANY fan that has had the power cut off to it and is within range of the
remote or wall control when the power is restored will "learn" to be controlled by that
remote or wall control when the instructions below are followed.
If you do not want that to happen, turn the wall switch to any other programmable
receiver/ fan that is in range to OFF!
A. If programming a fan to work with one Wall Control ONLY:
1. Restore electrical power
2. Move slider switch on the wall control to ON
*****Do step 3 within 60 seconds of doing step 2*****
3. Press and HOLD the OFF button for 5 seconds
OR until the light blinks twice (if there is a light kit)
B. If programming a fan to work with a Handheld Remote ONLY:
1. Restore electrical power
2. Make sure any switch controlling the fan is ON
*****Do step 3 within 60 seconds of doing step 2*****
3. Press and HOLD the OFF button for 5 seconds
OR until the light blinks twice (if there is a light kit)
C. If programming a fan to work with both a Wall Control AND a Remote:
1. Follow the steps in A above to program the Wall Control FIRST
2. Cut power to the fan at the Wall Control for at least 5 seconds
3. Turn power back on
*****Do step 4 within 60 seconds of doing step 3*****
4. Press and HOLD the OFF button on the REMOTE for 5 seconds
OR until the light blinks twice (if there is a light kit)
D. Test the fan functions and the light functions (if there is a light kit) to confirm it
programmed properly.
Note: Clip the wires on any unit that will be used as a remote (in the clamshell).
