This equipment is intended for professional use. Therefore, commercial use of this equipment is subject to the
respectively applicable national accident prevention rules and regulations. as a manufacturer, adam Hall is
obligated to notify you formally about the existence of potential health risks.
Hearing damage due to high volume and prolonged exposure: When in use, this product is capable of produc-
ing high sound-pressure levels (SPL) that can lead to irreversible hearing damage in performers, employees,
and audience members. For this reason, avoid prolonged exposure to volumes in excess of 90 dB.

1.
do not look into the beam from a distance of less than 40 cm.
2.
do not stare into the beam for extended periods at short-to-medium distances.
3.
do not view the beam directly with optical instruments such as magnifiers.
4.
Under some circumstances, stroboscopic effects may trigger epileptic seizures in sensitive individuals!
For this reason, persons who suffer from epilepsy should always avoid places where strobe lights are
used.

Mono-Switch:
Locate the mono switch between the XLR output sockets. When pressed (recessed) the stereo signal is
merged to a mono signal via a transformer-matrix. an Identical output signal is then available on both output
sockets. This way the PLI04 can also be used as a signal splitter. In this setup only input and output are
isolated via transformer. The grounds of the XLR sockets are not isolated between each other.

Ground-lift-Switch:

a galvanic (electrical) connection between two mains powered devices is often undesired as it can lead to
ground loops. Ground loops induce a low frequency hum or noise due to compensating currents though the
ground lead. In addition, computers and similar devices can also cause high frequency noise on the ground
lead. The PLI04 therefore implements high quality audio transformers (coupling transformers), which in
combination with the ground lift switch can reduce noise induced by ground loops and ground problems in
general. Press the according switch to lift the ground - in this case there is no physical/mechanical (electrical)
connection between input and output and compensating currents are thus suppressed.
3
Soft-Ground-Switch:
With this switch the ground connections are coupled via an Rc-circuit. This circuit cuts off high frequency
noise (such as from a computer) on the ground lead and in addition suppresses low frequency humming.
