Troubleshooting
Before calling for service, check through the chart below for probable causes of the problems you experience while using this unit.
Problem
No power when power button is pressed.
No playback when disc is loaded.
No audio output (or too low level output).
A single track can only be played.
No program playback.
Mistracking (sound jumping).
Hum.
Noise in tuner.
Remote control unit operation is impossible.
No programming is possible. Numeric
button entry is not accepted.
Probable cause(s)
Power plug not inserted securely.
Disc loaded with label side down.
Disc dirty.
Connection to stereo system is incorrect.
Misoperation of amplifier.
1/ALL button engaged.
program button not pressed.
play button not pressed.
Player receiving vibration or shock.
Disc dirty.
Pin-cord plug not connected securely.
Player too near tuner.
REMOTE CONTROL SELECTOR switch is
not set correctly.
Batteries not inserted in remote control unit.
The remote control is set to a mode other
than CD.

Suggested remedy
Plug in securely.
Load with label side up.
Clean disc surface.
Check connections.
Check amplifier's control/switch setting.
Press button to disengage it.
Press button to display "PROGRAM".
Press button.
Change the installation position of player.
Clean disc surface.
Re-connect plug securely.
Keep a reasonable distance between
them or switch off player's power.
Set switch to correct position.
Refer to page 5.
Insert batteries.
Select CD on the remote control.
