ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Antistatic footwear
It is recommended that antistatic footwear is worn, when it is necessary to reduce the possibility of electrostatic charge occurrence by discharging electrostatic charges to prevent
ignition hazard from sparks, e.g. inflammable substances and vapours, and when the danger of electric shock is not entirely prevented from due to electric and live devices. It is however
recommended to pay attention to the fact that antistatic footwear cannot provide sufficient protection against electric shocks, since it only introduces certain resistance between the
foot and floor. If electric shock hazard in not eliminated completely, further protection means are necessary to avoid the risk. It is recommended that such means and the following tests
are part of the accident protection program in your workplace.
According to our experience, it is recommended that electric resistance of the product ensuring desired antistatic protection in the usage period is lower than 1 000 MΩ. The lower electric
resistance limit is specified on the level of 100 kΩ for the new product to ensure limited protection against electric shock or ignition, when an electric device operating at the voltage
of 250 V becomes defective. Users should however be aware that in certain conditions the footwear may not provide sufficient protection and additional precautions should be taken
to ensure safety.
Electric resistance of the footwear may vary due to bending, dirt or moisture. The footwear will not serve its intended purpose when worn in wet conditions. It is thus necessary to strive
for the footwear to serve its intended purpose to discharge charges and ensure protection throughout the entire usage period. It is recommended for the users to schedule in-plant
electric resistance tests and perform them on a regular and frequent basis.
The category I footwear may absorb moisture, when worn for long periods of time, and in moist and wet conditions it may become conductive footwear.
If the footwear is worn in conditions, in which the sole material becomes soiled, it is recommended for the user to verify electrical properties of the footwear at all times, before a
hazardous area is entered. It is recommended to make sure that the ground resistance does not eliminate the protection provided by the footwear, where the antistatic footwear is worn.
When the footwear is worn, it is recommended not to use any insulating clothes – except for hosiery products – between the feet and footwear. If any insole is placed between the soles
and feet, it is recommended to verify electrical properties of the shoe-insole system.
Перед использованием внимательно прочитайте инструкцию по эксплуатации!
