Tighten the fastening screws (7) again.
Adjusting the gap size (Figure 1).
Brushes, sanding and polishing tools are
subject to natural wear. Therefore, the gap
size must be checked regularly and cor-
rected, if required.
Turn the star-knob bolt (8) until the clear-
ance between the brush, sanding or polish-
ing tools (5) and the sanding rest (6) is 2 mm
(max.).
Replacing brushes, sanding or
polishing tools (Figure 2).
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug from the socket outlet.
Loosen the four screws (15) and remove the
protective cover (14).
Extend the gap size withstar-knob bolt (8).
Adjust the required gap size with the star-
knob bolt (8).
Insert the pin (18) provided into the drill
hole (17) and secure the tool holder against
rotation.
Loosen the clamping screw (13) and remove
the clamping washer (11).
Remove the brush, sanding or polishing tool.
Insert a new brush, sanding or polishing tool.
Pay attention that the drive pin on the tool
holder (10) engages in the hole of the wheel.
Remount the clamping washer (11) and the
clamping screw (13 with the spring
washer (12), and tighten the clamping screw.
Mount the protective cover (14) and tighten
the four screws (15) again.
Switch the machine on and check for true
running.
In case of heavy vibration or noise, either
of the brush, sanding or polishing toolcan
be out-of-balance. Replace tools that are out-of-
balance immediately!
Pay attention for the correct running direction
of the tools!
Adjust the sanding rest (6) to the required
height.
Adjust the required gap size with the star-
knob bolt (8).
Operating instructions.
Switching ON:
Release the emergency OFF pushbutton (2)
and lift it up. Press the "I" button (1).
Switching OFF:
Lift up the emergency OFF pushbutton (2).
Press the "0" (1) button.
After switching off, the machine runs on
for approx. 50 seconds.
Emergency OFF pushbutton:
In emergency situations, press the red emer-
gency OFF pushbutton to switch the
machine off.
Overload protection.
In case of continuous high load over a longer
period of time, the machine is switched off. After
a cooling-down period of approx. 15 minutes,
the machine is ready for operation again.
Working with the machine (Figures 3+4).
Make sure that the protective cover (14) is
shut.
Check the gap size of the sanding rest and
make sure that both fastening screws (7) are
tightened.
Check the tight seating of the eye protection
(4).
Position the work piece on the sanding rest
and guide it with both hands.
Extraction device
The machine can be connected via the
sleeve (16) to a dust extraction system.
Repair and customer service.
Repairs may be carried out only by quali-
fied persons in conformity with the valid
regulations.
For repairs, we recommend our FEIN customer
service centre, the FEIN authorised service cen-
tres and FEIN agencies.
Carry out the following maintenance daily:
