2 Assembly and preparation
2.1 Mounting handle

1. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the pre-installed Phillips-head screw
from the handle (Fig. 1).
2. Put the handle into the handle holder (Fig. 2). Ensure that both holes
are aligned (Fig. 3).
2.2 Attaching the cloth and pad

CAUTION:
If you want to steam clean hard floors, the pad and micro-fibre cloth
have to be mounted. Ensure that a micro-fibre cloth is always attached
when the pad is mounted. If you use the pad without a micro-fibre cloth,
the floor or pad might be damaged.
1. Put a clean micro-fibre cloth onto the floor so that the bumps of the cloth
are pointing down and the flat surface is facing up.
2. Put the pad onto the cloth as shown (Fig. 5).
- The cloth has exactly the same outline as the pad.
- The attachment mechanism of the pad holds the cloth securely.
2.3 Filling the water tank

1. Put the appliance into the neutral position by straightening the handle
until it is at about 90° to the base of the appliance (Fig. 21), you can feel
it lock into place, and the appliance remains standing without support.
2. Release the water tank as shown (Fig. 9) and take it out of its holder.
3. Unscrew the tank cap counter-clockwise and take it off the water tank
(Fig. 10).
4. Fill the water tank with clear, cold tap water no higher than just under
the filling nozzle (Fig. 11).

3. Put the Phillips screw you took out before into its hole and tighten by
hand (Fig. 4).
4. Now attach the pad,

3. Now put the back of the appliance foot onto the pad as shown (Fig. 6).
You will hear a click as soon as the pad has engaged with the foot
(Fig. 7).
4. Lift the appliance slightly to check that the pad is connected to the ap-
pliance securely.
NOTE:
To release the pad, you have to press the foot button marked 'CLEAN-
ING PAD RELEASE' (Fig. 8).
Release the pad e.g.:
- after every steam clean or
- if you just want to sweep with the brush.

WARNING:
Danger of injury! Do not add disinfectant or any other additives such as
cleaning agents, alcohol, perfumes or chemicals into the water tank.
These make use of the appliance unsafe.
5. Turn the tank cap clockwise until it is completely back on the water tank
(Fig. 10).
6. Put the water tank back into its holder firmly (Fig. 12).
You will feel and hear it snap into place.
