SETTING THE TEMPERATURE
•
Always check first if there is a label with ironing instructions attached to the
article to be ironed. Always follow the instructions on that label.
•
If there are no ironing instructions to be found, but you know what kind of
fabric the article is made of, then follow the table below for the recommended
temperature.
•
If a certain finish is added to the fabric (shiny, wrinkled, structure,...), then iron
the fabric at a lower temperature than indicated in the table below.
•
The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Therefore be sure to iron the articles
that require the lowest temperature first, like synthetic fabrics.
•
If a fabric is made out of different kinds of fibres, then always choose the lowest
temperature to iron this combination of fibres.
•
Silk and other shiny fabrics need to be ironed inside-out.
•
Velours and other fabrics that can become shiny should be ironed in one direction
with slight pressure. Always keep the iron moving.
•
Never iron over zippers or other metal objects in a garment. This could damage
the soleplate. Always iron around such objects.
