1. Connector for anchor point
2. Shock absorber
3. Connector for connection to fall protection harness (EN361)
Fall arrest lanyard certified according to EN-355:2002 and according to PPE
Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
The main purpose of the energy absorber lanyard is to catch and reduce the
force on a body in case of a fall. The energy absorbing lanyard, according
to EN-355, must minimise the force on a body <6kN in the event of a fall.
The energy absorbing lanyard, connected to a Full body harness, certified
according to EN-361, makes a fall protection system. The shock absorber
lanyard is manufactured from 12mm polyamide rope or 35mm elasticated
polyester webbing and tear strap in polyamide. The shock absorber lanyard
is available in several designs and can be equipped with a steel quick-action
link, snap hook, karabiner and or a hook, certified to EN362. The shock
absorber lanyard may be a maximum length of 2.0m including connectors.
The shock absorber lanyard is also available with double legs (also referred
to as a "twin" lanyard) and is then called a climbing line. Fall arrest lanyards
may only be connected to a full body harness (see EN-363).
Connetctions points that may be used on the full body harness are:
The D-ring on the back, located between the user's shoulder blades; or
A single or double chest strap configuration. These points are labelled
"A" or "A2".
Warning! Work in a fall protection environment requires that the user is fully
fit (ref EN-365), has completed training in the use of the equipment and is
aware of the risks that can arise. Prior to starting to work in fall risk
environment, plans shall be made for how to evacuate a person who has
fallen or been injured and/or possibly been left hanging in the harness. If you
are unsure, contact your dealer or the manufacturer for further information.
Warning! If fall arrest lanyard is a type Y-model and only one hook is
connected to the anchor point, we recommend that the second leg is
connected to a designated stowage point that will detach if fall takes place.
The absorber lanyard may be with an intergrated loop under the hook. Then
it is tested and intended for the connection of rescue equipment. The eyelet
has a minimum breaking strength of 800kg. Any seam may burst but the loop
never looses below 1500kg as is the requirement.
Warning! Prior to using the product for the first time, ensure that the energy
absorber is fit for purpose and that sufficient fall clearance exists between the
anchor point and the ground.
Before each use: Carry out a careful visual check of the material and
function and ensure that the equipment works. Be careful in relation to tape
breaches, broken seams/stitching, cut damage, discoloration, damaged
D-rings and buckles, and the function of eyelets and wraps.
Warning! The product is only for Personal Protection Equipment use. All
other usage is forbidden. If possible, each user shall have their own personal
harness (ref EN-365). It is important that the user visually checks their
equipment prior to use (self-check).
Warning! For connection to a system in accordance with EN-363:2008 the
user shall be fully conversant with all the functions of the component parts
and their use. In case of doubt contact your dealer or the manufacturer.
Warning! If any fault in the equipment is detected which may impact on the
safety of its use, the product must be replaced immediately. In case of doubt
contact your dealer or the manufacturer for inspection.
Warning! If the equipment has been subjected to a fall the product shall
immediately be discarded and replaced or inspected by competent person.
Warning! For connection to a fall protection system the anchorage point
shall be of an approved type in accordance with EN-795 or the equivalent
tested for this purpose, and cope with a static loading of the suitable stan-
dards. As far as possible the anchorage point shall be directly above the user.
The work shall be carried out in such a manner that the fall distance and
fall risk are minimized. Avoid lateral movements that can cause a pendulum
where a person would swing into an object or a wall causing injuries.
Warning! Lowest ultimate load on the equipment is 15 kN.
NOTE! 1301 and 1302 is certified with 100 Kg steel mass, brake distance in
dynamic CE test is 0,9 meter. With a peak of 5,4 kN.
NOTE! 1401 and 1402 is certified with 140 Kg steel mass, brake distance is
dynamic CE test is 1,5 meter. With a peak of 5,5 kN.
