Do not ever touch the terminals of the rectifier, when it is connected to the power supply network.
Do not ever start the engine while charging the accumulator.
Before each use check the conditions of the rectifier, including the conditions of the power cord and the charging conductors.
Should any damage be detected, stop using the rectifier. Damaged cables and conductors must be replaced with new ones in a
professional workshop.
Before any maintenance of the rectifier is executed, make sure the plug of the power cord has been disconnected from power
supply socket.
The rectifier must be stored away from unauthorised persons, particularly children. Also during work make sure the rectifier is
placed outside the reach of unauthorised persons, particularly children.
Before connecting the terminals of the rectifier, make sure the terminals of the accumulator are clean and free from corrosion.
Provide the best possible electric contact between the terminal of the accumulator and the terminal of the rectifier.
Do not ever charge a frozen accumulator. Before you commence charging, move the accumulator to a place in which the electro-
lyte may totally defrost. Do not heat accumulators in order to accelerate defrosting.
Preclude any leakage from accumulators. Any leakage from the accumulator on the rectifier may cause a short-circuit and thus an
electric shock, which may be dangerous for health and life.
OPERATION OF THE RECTIFIER
Preparation of the accumulator for charging
Get acquainted with the charging instructions provided along with the accumulator and observe them. In the case of the so called
„wet" acid-lead accumulators" it is necessary to check the level of electrolyte and, if required, replenish it with distilled water to
the level indicated in the documentation of the accumulator. While replenishing the level of electrolyte, observe strictly the recom-
mendations indicated in the documentation of the accumulator.
Connect the terminals of the rectifier to the terminals of the accumulator; make sure the terminal of the rectifier marked with a „+"
is connected to the terminal of the accumulator marked with a „+" and the terminal of the rectifier marked with a „-" is connected
to the terminal of the accumulator marked with a „-".
Connect the plug of the power cord to the power supply socket.
Press the „ON/OFF" button and hold it approximately 0.5 sec.; it will turn the device on, which will be indicated on the display
by the „000" symbol. The rectifier is in the standby mode. In order to turn the rectifier off during any operating mode, press the
„ON/OFF" button and hold it for approximately 1 sec.
Function of the buttons
„BATTERY TYPE" (in YT-8303) – permits to select the kind of the accumulator being charged. The selection is confirmed with a lit
diode: GEL" – means a lead-gel accumulator; „AGM" – means an AGM accumulator; „WET" – means an acid-lead accumulator. In
case of any doubts as to the kind of accumulator, contact the manufacturer or the seller, in order to establish the type.
„2/6/12 A SELECT" (in YT-8302); „2/6/10/15 A SELECT" (in YT-8303) – permits to select the charging current in amperes; the
selected value will be indicated in the display of the rectifier. The rectifier will commence charging after approximately 1 sec. from
the selection of the value.
Selecting the value of the charging current, consider the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the accumulator, but the
table below will permit to roughly determine the charging current for the given capacity of the accumulator.
Charging current
„BATTERY VOLTAGE" – if this button is pressed in the standby mode or during charging, the current voltage of the accumulator
is displayed.
„12V DC OUTPUT" – if this button is pressed during operation of the rectifier in the standby mode, voltage is sent to the 12 V DC
socket located at the back of the housing of the rectifier. If the button is pressed again, the voltage on the 12 V DC socket is cut
off and the rectifier returns to the standby mode.
LEDs
„AMP" – lit during charging or operation of the 12 V DC socket,
„VOLT" – lit when the voltage of the accumulator is being checked by means of the „BATTERY VOLTAGE" button,
„FAULT" – lit in the case of an operation concluded incorrectly,
„CHARGING" – lit during the process of charging of an accumulator,
„FULL" – lit after the process of charging of an accumulator,
