Inspection and Use of Mifl ex Carbon HD HP diving hoses
Mifl ex Carbon HD HP diving hoses are high performance hoses which
are thinner, lighter and more fl exible than traditional diving hoses. Just
like carbon fi bre has advantages over steel, carbon fi bre performsdiffe-
rently and must be cared for an used differently than steel. Likewise, ca-
reful use and inspection is critical to the safe use of your Mifl ex Carbon
HD HP diving hose.
1. While in storage, or during transport of your hoses to or from storage,
your hoses could become damaged in a number of ways. Never use
your hose as a carrying or hanging handle for the tank. Before every
dive, carefully inspect your hoses for damage, wear and tear. Pay parti-
of wear, no matter how slight, immediately replace the hose. (Fig.1)
2. During a dive, and unknown to you, your hoses could be caught on
sharp rocks, twisted or subjected to other stresses. After every dive,
carefully inspect your hoses for damage, wear and tear. Pay particular
3. Never leave your hoses dangling with any gauge installed, especially
when they are without pressure. Always secure the hoses to your jacket

bend in the same location (i.e. create a "hinge effect"). Continuous ben-
ding at the same pivot point will shorten the life of your hose. (Fig.3)
hose is too long, you may loop it and secure it in place with a section
of rubber tubing (such as the inner tube of a bicycle tire). However, the
minimum bending radius must be at least 3.5 times the outer diameter of
the hose. For example, if the outer diameter of your hose is 8mm, then
