• Extreme caution should be used when loading/unloading equipment. Failure to follow these warnings and instructions may result in property damage, serious bodily injury, and/or death.
• Never ride vehicle or equipment up or down the ramps. Vehicle engine should be off during loading/unloading.
• Do not exceed the rated capacity of the ramp.
• Do not load vehicles with tires wider than ramp.
• Do not exceed maximum loading height of 36 inches.
• Do not exceed the rated capacity of the transport vehicle or load surface (tailgate/bumper).
• Always secure straps tightly from ramp to transport vehicle to limit movement of the ramps during loading/unloading.
• Only use ramp on level stable surface.
• Never step between rungs/treads; this may cause serious bodily injury.
• Always clean and dry ramp surfaces before loading/unloading.
• Keep body parts clear of all pinch points at all times.
• Never cut, drill, weld or modify ramps. Any modifications to the ramps may cause them to become unstable.
BEFORE EACH USE
q Inspect ramps and tie downs for damage, fraying, wear, or broken welds before use. If significant damage is present do not use ramp. Contact CargoSmart
Clean ramps before/after each use, make sure traction surfaces are free of dirt, debris, and oil.
q
Ensure ramp capacity is greater than total weight of vehicle being loaded/unloaded.
q
Make sure Transport Vehicle is parked with emergency brake engaged, wheels chocked, and engine off. If loading/unloading onto a trailer, make sure trailer is properly coupled to transport vehicle.
q
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Place ramp top lip securely on loading surface. Ramps may scratch loading surface.
2. Center ramps on loading surface. When using two ramps, align the ramps with the center of the wheels of the vehicle being loaded/unloaded. Check the distance between the ramps and make sure the distance at the ground is equal
to the distance at the loading surface (ramps are parallel).
3. With ramps properly spaced and aligned, attach one tie down strap to each ramp (strap should be attached to the center of the third ramp rung/tread from the loading surface. Attach the other end of the strap to a structural frame
member of the transport vehicle.
Failure to comply with this warning and the capacity limitations may result in serious personal injury, death, and/or significant property damage. The attachment/installation of this product is critical to its load carrying capabilities and is beyond the control of

LED LIGHT OPERATION
The CargoSmart
LED Hybrid ramp is designed such that when the ramp is folded for storage or transport the lights automatically turn off. When the ramp is unfolded for use, the lights automatically turn on. Note: There is no auto shut-off.
®
The ramp must be folded to turn lights off and maximize battery life. The LED lights are powered by (8) AA-Cell alkaline batteries located in a weather resistant housing on the underside of the ramp near the hinge.
BATTERY HOUSING
REPLACING BATTERIES
Required
• 1 Small Phillips Head Srewdriver
• 8 AA-Cell Alkaline Batteries
1. Remove (6) phillips head screws in the housing cover.
2. Remove and replace (8) AA batteries. Make sure batteries are in the correct orientation.
WARNINGS
• For best results, use type Alkaline AA-Cell batteries
• Install only new batteries of the same type in your product
• Failure to insert batteries in the correct polarity, as indicated in the battery compartment, may shorten the life of the batteries or cause batteries to leak
• Do not mix old and new batteries
• Do not mix Alkaline, Standard (Carbon-Zinc) or Rechargeable (Nickle Cadmium) or (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire
INSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE:
For prolonged life and efficiency, it is neccessary periodically to inspect and perform preventative maintenance on your ramp as follows:
1.
Inspection: Any battery may leak caustic solutions or gases which can corrode the inside of your battery housing. You should remove the batteries at least once a month and visually inspect the inside of the housing for signs of corrosion.
2.
Separate Storage of Batteries: If your ramp(s) is used infrequently, e.g., once a month or less, it is recommended to remove the batteries and store them separately. This helps guard against corrosion and may also prolong battery life.
3.
Maintenance: Place a small amount of petroluem jelly on all the threads and rubber housing seal every six months.
