Important Notice:
Your CONAIRPHONE
TM
will operate on all systems, true tone or rotary.
1. If your home is wired for rotary service, move switch to pulse position.
2. If your home is wired for tone service, move switch to tone position.
3. If you are unsure of the type of service you have, ask your local
telephone company.
PREPARATION
Four AAA Alkaline batteries (not included) need to be installed in the
compartment located on the bottom of the Phone. Battery power is used
to support the hold and line select functions. Your CONAIRPHONE
place and receive calls normally without batteries.
NOTE: To use the hold function and the line status indication features,
batteries must be installed.
Install the Batteries
Open the battery door snap the four AAA Alkaline batteries in place
(ensure the polarity is correct). Close the battery door and plug in the
line cord to resume the telephone service (see Diagram E).
Pushbutton Dialing Convenience on Rotary Lines
This phone can be used as a direct replacement for rotary service. If
your home is wired for rotary service, move switch to pulse position and
enjoy pushbutton dialing ease.
NOTE: Your telephone will pulse for a second or two while you are
dialing. This simulates the dialing action.
True Tone Dialing
If your home is wired for tone service, move switch to tone position. This
can be used as a direct replacement for tone phones. Also allows use
of long distance dialing services and tone accessed computers.
NOTE: If your home is not wired for tone service, you will not be able to
make outgoing calls while in the tone mode. You have rotary service.
INSTALLATION
Coil Cord Connection
Insert coil cord into modular jack located on the bottom of the housing.
Connect the other end into the modular jack located on handset
(see Diagram B).

Line Cord Connection
To use both lines of a two-line
telephone, two telephone numbers
must be provided by your telephone
company. If you have only one
telephone number, another line can
be installed by your telephone
company.
For One Two Line Jack(RJI4C)
Insert one plug of the 4 pin fully
modular line cord into the wall jack,
making sure it snaps firmly in place
(see Diagram C). Insert the other
plug of the 4 pin line cord into the
telephone jack marked "Line 1 + 2"
(see Diagram D).
For Two Single Line Jacks(RJ11C)
For two single line jacks, two
separate line cords are needed for
the connection. Connect the 4 pin
line cord to the first telephone wall
jack. Connect the other end of the
4 pin line cord into the telephone
jack marked "Line 1+2". Connect
the 2 pin fully modular line cord to
the second telephone wall jack and
plug the other end of the line cord
into the telephone jack marked
"Line 2" (see Diagram D).
Wall Mounting
Your CONAIRPHONE
TM
is also
designed to mount on a wall surface.
Insert the modular plug into the wall
jack making sure it snaps firmly in
place. Position the wall mount slots
located on the back of the base over
the two studs of the wall plate. Push
down to lock in place. There is a
provision for holding the handset off
hook when the telephone is wall
mounted. Position the handset on the
notch above the DIAL TONE RESET
(hook switch) key. This is a convenient
feature when you need to call another
person to the phone or if you are
interrupted during the conversation.
