OPERATION
Receiving a Phone Call
1. When your phone rings, the green LED will flash rapidly indicating a
call is coming in. Pick up the handset and press the key ( Line 1 or
Line 2 ) that is flashing rapidly. The green LED will be lit solid to indicate
that the line is in use.
NOTE: If the line status LED is not lit or is dimly lit, please install fresh
batteries.
2. Hang up the handset to release the telephone line when
conversation is completed.
Dialing a Call
NOTE: Before dialing, make sure the Tone/Pulse switch is correctly
positioned for your type of services.
1. Pick up the handset and press the line 1 or line 2 key for the line you
wish to access.
2. Wait for a dial tone, then press the dialing keys for the number
desired. Your CONAIRPHONE
TM
, in pulse setting, uses electronic
impulses to simulate dialing. Because of this you might hear pulsing
for a second or two after the last button has been pressed. Note: Your
CONAIRPHONE
TM
features a lighted keypad for dialing in a darkened
room.
Pulse / Tone Combination Dialing
Combination dialing is useful to subscribers of rotary (pulse) service
who wish to gain access to various low cost long distance and
computer services otherwise unavailable to them.
1. With the TONE/PULSE switch in the pulse mode, dial your access
number.
2. Press the "*" key (your telephone will change the dialing mode from
pulse to tone and a four second pause will be inserted automatically).
3. Dial your code/authorization number.
4. When call is completed, your telephone will return to the pulse dialing
mode automatically.

KEY FEATURES

Last Number Redial
Your CONAIRPHONE
TM
remembers the last number dialed. If the
number you dial is busy or not being answered, hang up. If you want to
redial the last number automatically, press the REDIAL button.
NOTE: You can redial the same telephone number as many times as
required. However, once you dial another number, the previous number
is erased.
Pause
Some phone services require a pause during the dialing sequence. In
many cases, business phones require a prefix number such as "9" in
7
order to obtain an outside line. After dialing "9", there often is a short
pause before a dial tone is heard. The PAUSE feature is designed so
that the automatic memory dialing and redial features can be
programmed with a 4 second pause in the dialing sequence. This will
allow enough time for the dial tone to come on line before the
programmed phone number is automatically dialed. Example:
* Dial the prefix number ( eg: 9).
* Press the REDIAL key before a dial tone is heard.
* Dial the desired telephone number. You can now use the REDIAL
feature. Your telephone will wait for an outside dial tone before dialing
the remaining digits. The PAUSE feature can also be programmed into
the automatic memory dialing feature.
PAUSE is also useful when accessing many telephone computer
services or long distance phone services where the user is required to
wait for a carrier or computer tone before entering their account/access
numbers.
NOTE: If your phone or computer service requires a waiting period of
more than four seconds, pressing the PAUSE key again adds another
four seconds to the delay (eg: press two times for eight seconds, three
times for twelve seconds, etc.)
Ringer Off / Low / High
Your CONAIRPHONE
TM
features a harmonic dual tone ringer which can
be adjusted to a loud (High) or soft (Low) sound level. When you don't
want to be disturbed, slide the switch to the "Off" position. Now you can
still make outgoing calls without being disturbed by incoming calls.
Distinctive Rings
Your CONAIRPHONE
TM
features two distinct rings, one for each line (1
and 2).
Receiver Volume Control
The receiver volume control is located on the side of your handset. This
enables you to adjust the receiver normal to high for a more comfortable
listening level.
Flash Function
The FLASH key can be used to retrieve a new dial tone after ending a
call.
NOTE: The FLASH key is also a useful feature for special
telephone services such as call waiting and three party calling. Press
briefly, release and perform the custom call procedure.
Hold
To put a call on hold, press the HOLD key that corresponds to the line
your using and place the telephone handset into the base. The red LED
of the corresponding HOLD key will light while the call is on hold. To
resume your conversation, pick up the handset or pick up any extension.
Hold status will automatically release. Once the conversation is
complete, hang up as you would a basic phone.
