Problem
No function when On/Off Trigger Switch (5) is
operated
Slow material removal
Scratches on workpiece after sanding
Burn marks on workpiece
Excessive workplace dust or swarf
Tool hot to the touch

Possible cause
No power
Defective On/Off Trigger Switch
Sanding drum too fine or worn
Sanding drum too coarse
Not enough material removed
Sanding drum incompatible with material
Too much pressure exerted on to the sander
Vacuum dust extraction system not used in
workplace
Cleaning frequency inadequate
Work session too long
Motor Vents (6) blocked
Work surface excessively hot

Solution
Check power supply
Have the On/Off Trigger Switch replaced by an
authorised Silverline service centre
Fit new sanding drum with coarser grit
Fit new sanding drum with finer grit
Continue sanding
Fit correct sanding drum
Use less pressure whilst using the tool. This will
also help reduce wear on tool and sanding drums
Fit a dust extraction system
Clean workplace and tool more frequently
Allow tool to cool before continuing
Vacuum out Motor Vents and allow tool to cool
before continuing
Allow to cool before continuing
