COMPASS FUNCTIONS
ROTATE the DIRECT DIAL arrow to point to COMPASS.
The Default Screen is Compass MODE.
PRESS MODE to scroll through the modes in COMPASS.
They will be the following: COMPASS/ALTIMETER, SET
REFERENCE ALTITUDE, and CALIbRATE COMPASS (4A)
COMPASS MODE
In this mode, your current direction is shown in the middle
of the display. In addition an Arrow (fig) located along
the outer edge of the display will always be pointing
towards North as reference. The bottom of the display
shows your current Altitude. (this may be incorrect based
on when you last set your reference altitude, instructions
on setting reference altitude below) After 30 seconds
without pressing a button in Compass mode, the watch
will go into Sleep mode. (fig).
To wake up the watch, PRESS any button. The sleep
mode is designed to help save your watch's battery life!
SETTING YOUR REFERENCE ALTITUDE
PRESS MODE to go to Reference Altitude
The Units for the altitude (Meters or Feet) were set in Time
Setting for Altitude
PRESS START/STOP to adjust the value of the number
with the blinking Outline under it.
PRESS LAP/RESET to move the blinking Outline
to the next number. (4b)
