5.2 Installing the side rail
The side rails are provided completely ready to be used and
installed on the bed. No tool is necessary to its installation.
1. The installation on the bed must be done with the side
rail in locked position.
2. Place both jaws of the side rail on the frame of the bed,
by positioning the locking button in footboard. The jaw
opposite straddling the lifting pole support to assure a
lower space of 60 mm (< 60 mm) between the side rail
and the bed end head.
IMPORTANT!
Risk of squeezing or entrapment
– The distance between the side rail and the head
bed end must be smaller than 6 cm.
3. For beds equipped with bed ends with fast locking, it
is beforehand necessary to pull and turn ¼ of tour the
trigger, previously positioned the jaw at the head of bed
under the trigger and relocks it after.

4. Once jaws positioned well on the frame of bed, fix the
side rail by using both knobs and tighten them firmly.
WARNING!
Risk of injury or damage
Not tighten and\or an insufficient tightening
of knobs can entail a risk of fall of the side
rail and\or of the patient.
– Fix the side rail by using both knobs and
tighten them firmly.
5. Make some manipulations to verify the smooth running
(folding / unfolding, locking / unbolting, tightening).
6 Usage
6.1 Operating the side rail
To open (fold the side rail):
1. Pull the locking button and start the folding movement
with one hand on the upper horizontal bar.
2. Release the locking button during the folding movement
and handling the side rail until its lower position (under
the mattress).
3. Try moving the side rail up-/downwards to make sure
it is properly locked.
CAUTION!
Risk of pinching
– To avoid all finger pinch out during the
manipulation, fingers must be positioned in the
two lateral dug areas designed for that purpose,
in locking button (grey zone).
To close (unfold the side rail):
1. Pull the side rail by the upper bar and rising until it
engage in the locking system.
WARNING!
Risk of injury or damage
Insufficient engaging in the locking system can
entail a risk of fall of the side rail and\or of the
patient.
– Always verify the good locking of the side rail
before leaving unsupervised the unattended
patient.
