To use or change shortcuts on your home screen:

With the slider closed, press UNLOCK ( ). From the
home screen, press the Directional Key ( ) right.

To use a shortcut, scroll to it and press the Center
Select Key ( ).
To change your shortcuts, touch the Left Touch
Key (Settings).
To change the shortcut on your IM Key (

With the slider closed, press UNLOCK ( ). From the
home screen, press MENU ( ) >
> Phone Settings > Set Shortcuts > Set IM/Email/VR Key.

Choose whether you want the key to open Email,
Mobile IM, or VR (voice commands).
