IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING AND STORE IT FOR
FUTURE REFERENCE. IT WILL BE HELPFUL TO YOU IF YOU ENCOUNTER ANY OP-
ERATING PROBLEMS.
•
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the unit. There are no us-
er-serviceable parts inside. Contact technical support for further assistance.
•
To prevent fire or electric shock hazard, do not expose the base to rain or moisture.
•
Do not place the kettle or base on an unstable table, stand, tripod, bracket or cart.
The unit may fall, resulting in possible damage or injury.
•
When boiling water, keep the spout turned inward to prevent burns. Do not touch
any hot surfaces directly and always use the insulated handle. Do not open the lid
while boiling water.
•
Close supervision is necessary when used near children, infirm adults or animals.
•
Do not immerse any part of this appliance (or base) in water or other liquid. Do not
use with an extension cord unless it has been checked and tested by a qualified
technician or service person.
•
Do not let the cord touch any hot surfaces.
•
Make sure that your electrical supply is 120V/60Hz and can handle 1500W. Ideally
no other high-draw appliances should be running on the same circuit at the same
time.
•
Do not fill with water while unit is on base and base is plugged in.
•
Keep kettle and base away from any (external) sources of heat, such as a stove top
or oven. Such heat can deform and ruin the unit or base.
•
When unplugging cord, be sure to grasp from the plastic around the plug itself and
not from the cord.
•
CAUTION: Steam from the kettle is extremely hot and can cause burns. Be sure
that the spout is pointed away from people when handling.
•
Do not turn on kettle when empty. Make sure to have at least 2 cups of water inside
before boiling.
•
This kettle is designed for boiling water only. Using this appliance for anything
else may destroy it.
•
Keep base and unit on a dry, even surface.
